Gate Mudaliyar Abraham Christopher Gregory Suriachi Amarasekara (1883-1983) was one of Ceylon's first well known artists. In addition, he was an art teacher and an amateur magician.

Hello, I was excited to come across your wide swath of Ceylon art. Lovely collection of familiar and not so famous artists of the golden era which produced Gabriel, Peiris to name a few. I too love Ceylon art and collect antique prints, historical books, maps, ephemera, and antiques. I grew up in Ceylon and got a good dose of art from friends who had private collections and a father who instilled in me the love of art and culture. I live in the United States and would like to find out more about how and where you got your fabulous collection. Its rare to find people nowadays who know Ceylon artists from the last century.
